This majestic scene captures the imagination, recalling times gone by, of riders and hounds resting in the woods after the Hunt. This painting was inspired by a late-afternoon encounter in the woods on an estate just outside Kilkenny, Ireland. A wedding took place that afternoon on the grounds and the riders were waiting to ride through after the revelers emerged from the Manor House. This painting is beautifully framed in a traditional black wood carved frame with bronze liner but it also makes a statement in a gold frame and linen liner.
