This triptych was inspired by a sailing trip I took in March 2019 to the British Virgin Islands, aboard a Windstar clipper ship; a motor sailer called “The Windsurf”. One morning, as I strolled the upper deck, I was amazed at the panoramic view of the water, sky and surrounding islands, and wanted to paint that vast, encompassing view of the water close-up, with the islands and beaches in the distance. When I got home, I decided to paint it in three panels rather than as one giant canvas. Each panel is a 36 x 24″ 2″ canvas back wrapped canvas, before framing. The triptych can be hung together with no space or with each painting slightly spaced about 1″ apart. There is a simple, whitewashed driftwood frame on each piece, and it is currently wired so that each piece can hang independently as well as it is wired as one large unit.  There are Open Edition Prints available individually or as a three-some and it can be purchased as a Limited Edition Print on canvas, hand-signed and numbered by me.
